TCDSB #1
Good morning TCDSB families,
We are pleased to introduce a new feature of the TCDSB learning resources website. Starting today, we will have new daily learning activities, broken down by grades and starting with a prayer/reflection before getting into recommended subject areas of focus. These daily activities can be found here: https://sites.google.com/tcdsb.ca/tcdsbcurriculumdept/todays-learning-activities?authuser=0
Families have asked for this and we hope this will support your child while learning at home. Please also be aware that supplementary resources can be found here: https://sites.google.com/tcdsb.ca/tcdsbcurriculumdept/home
TCDSB #2
Dear Parent/Guardian,
The Ministry of Education has confirmed that schools will remain closed beyond April 6. We hope that you have had the opportunity to check out and use the resources provided by the Ministry of Education as well as supplementary Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) resources during Phase1 of our response plan.
The TCDSB is currently planning to provide further support for Phase 2 of this closure, which will focus on distance learning. We are collaborating with a number of educational partners and will communicate details on this plan as they become available.
To assist with this preparation, we are asking that you please review our short parent survey, which will help us assess how many of our students are in need of technological devices. (For example: desktop computer, laptop, Chromebook, smartphones) and/or internet access at home.
During these extraordinary times, please know that we value our shared partnership with parents and caregivers, and know that we are committed to providing every student with the necessary tools to support their learning from home.
We thank you for your understanding during these difficult times.
Please complete this brief survey https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/TCDSB-Home-Technology.
Resources and information relating to COVID-19 can be found on our website at http://www.tcdsb.org/covid19.
Sincerely,
Rory McGuckin
