St. John's is a Roman Catholic School that provides education for children from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8.
We are a Catholic School community dedicated to providing a faith-centered school environment that will encourage students to reach their full potential academically and socially, and to understand the gospel message of social justice and peace.

SAFE ARRIVAL and SCHOOL MESSENGER
MORNING SUPERVISION OF STUDENTS
Supervision officially begins at 8:15pm. Students who arrive at school BEFORE 8:15 a.m. are not supervised by school staff. For your child's safety we recommend that your child arrives at school after 8:15 a.m. In an effort to continue with safety protocols, we are asking that only students and staff remain in the school yard and parents do not enter the school yard.
PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF OF STUDENTS
Please note that parents/guardians and all visitors to the school are asked to buzz the School Office upon entry at all times as per Board Policy.
If you regularly pick up or drop off your child, please arrange to wait at the door from where they are dismissed. All walkers are dismissed from the back of the school in the school yard. All drop-offs and pick-ups should be done in safe, designated areas. Any cars obstructing the school bus loading zones at the front of the school will be ticketed.
Please use the area WEST of the school building or street parking and walk your child to the back of the schoolyard for pick up and drop off. Due to safety concerns for the students, the use of parking behind the St. John Church is reserved for Notre Dame High School and the Church and should not be used The Staff parking lot is limited in space and reserved for staff only.

- Morning Recess @ 10:12 - 10:27am
- Lunch Recess @ 11:15 - 12:15pm
- Afternoon Recess @ 1:40 - 1:55pm
- Dismissal @ 3:00 pm
SAFE ARRIVAL and SCHOOL MESSENGER
- Parents and guardians must communicate all late(s) and absence(s) to the school.
- Please call SAFE ARRIVAL 1- 833-251-3286 before 8:30AM, go online go.schoolmessenger.ca or download the SchoolMessenger App to report a student absence.
- If you are sending correspondence by letter or note when your child is going to be late or absent, your co- operation is requested by sending a note to the teacher or office. stating the reason for absence or lateness. PLEASE DATE AND SIGN ALL YOUR CORRESPONDENCES.
- Students coming to school after 8:30 a.m. or 12:15 p.m. must come to the office and get a Late Slip before going to class. Punctuality is important for continuity of learning. In the event that a child does not arrive at school and we do not receive a note or a call, the school will: a) phone your home b) call you at work c) call the emergency number.
- Students who are ill should remain at home. Extended absences must also be communicated to the office and your child’s teacher.
