Dear St. John parents and guardians
We hope that you were able to enjoy a restful and restorative spring break. As a staff, we truly appreciated the chance to recharge our batteries. Returning to virtual learning this week, we would like to remind families of the following:
- Attendance and/or participation is expected every day. If your child will not be participating at all on a particular day, please enter the absence using our regular Safe Arrival system. The system will call out should your absence not be pre-recorded.
- If your child will not be participating in any remote learning due to exceptional circumstances during this shut down, please let your child’s teacher know and copy Ms. Martinez De Herrera [email protected]
- Please check your child’s virtual learning platform each day (Google Classroom) for meeting links, schedules, daily updates and news. Any changes will be posted in a timely manner. Please also keep an eye out for emails from your child’s teacher, as some updates may be shared there as well.
- If you are experiencing technical difficulties, please contact the TCDSB Service Desk at (416) 222-8282 Ext. 4357 (HELP). You can also copy the following link and paste it in your browser for How To videos. https://www.tcdsb.org/FORSTUDENTS/HowToVideos/Pages/default.aspx
- If your child is using an iPad for virtual learning, please remember to plug it in during breaks, close all apps that are not in use, and keep the charge cord near by, as video conferencing drains the batteries more quickly than regular use.
- We understand that virtual learning is challenging, and families are having to balance working from home, virtual learning, child care, household responsibilities and more. Please let us know if we can support you in any way.
Thank you for your continued support,
David Comacchio
Principal
